Out of the mouths of babes . . .

I was listening from the other room to Dylan's conversation with Marissa.
M, "I'm older than you, that makes me your big sister and that means I'm responsible for you."
D, "What about Auntie Karen, and Auntie Rachel and Auntie Becca's babies?  Those are mommy's sisters, and that means I am the babies big brother and I am responsible for all of them!"
LOL :-)

Christmas Pictures!!

Things have been fun around here lately!!  We decided to start a new tradition.  Everyone would put suggestions into a jar on where we should go for dinner, and what activity we should do as a family.  Every pay day we choose one place for dinner, and one activity!  This week we went to Chuck E Cheese, and then made mazes!  Well, we are doing the mazes tonight because we ran out of time last night!  We went to a new place to get our pictures done, (the kids were VERY well behaved, even with the long wait) and then went to Chuck E Cheese.  By the time we got home it was past the little ones bedtime.  We had a blast, and I LOVE the new photo studio we found!  They take great pictures, AND they print them all there for you for no extra cost.  I was really excited about that part :-)  We also got a photo CD and a free mug with our family photo on it.  Here are some of the photos that were taken.  Make sure I have your address, so I can send you a picture of the family not posted here :-)!

Co-op ending for the season

I am really surprised at how much I have enjoyed working with the homeschool co-op this semester.  Friday will be our last day, and it has flown by.  I am so glad to be involved, and to get to know so many wonderful women and children!!  I love getting out of the house and letting my kids learn and play every Friday.  I have been praying that God will guide us and show us what His will is, and when He brought this along, I wasn't really sure how I would feel about it, but I am SO glad I chose to follow His guidance.  I will really miss the friends I have made, and I am looking forward to it starting back up in a few months.  Always follow God, He knows what He is doing, even if it doesn't quite make sense to you at the moment!!

Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays??

I got this in my e-mail, and unfortunately, it's sad but true:

 Twas the Month before Christmas

Twas the month before Christmas

When all through our land,

Not a Christian was praying

Nor taking a stand.

Why the PC Police had taken away

The reason for Christmas - no one could say.

The children were told by their schools not to sing

About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.

It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say

December 25th is just a ' Holiday'.

Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit

Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!

CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-Pod

Something was changing, something quite odd!

Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa

In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.

As Targets were hanging their trees upside down

At Lowe's the word Christmas - was nowhere to be found.

At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears

You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.

Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty

Are words that were used to intimidate me.

Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen

On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton!

At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter

To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.

And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith

Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace

The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded

The reason for the season, stopped before it started.

So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'

Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.

Choose your words carefully, choose what you say

Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS,

not Happy Holiday!

Please, all Christians join together and

wish everyone you meet

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Christ is The Reason' for the Christ-mas Season!

Baby has arrived!

Samantha Joy born lovingly at home on Friday, 11-11-11 at 10:23 am.  6 lbs. 13 oz 22" long.  Mommy and baby doing great, daddy is thrilled :-)  Dylan was horrified that she was naked and that her parents left her naked and he thinks that they should buy her clothes since she didn't have any when she was born (which he thought she should have been born wearing clothes LOL!)  Congratulations to the proud parents!!

Baby on the way . . .

No, not mine!!!  My sister is due any day now with her baby.  I can't wait!  I predicted that she will go into labor tomorrow night and have the baby early the next morning.  Mainly because tomorrow is a full moon (and typically women go into labor during a full moon) and I think she'll have the baby the next morning because then she will be born 11-11-11.  I thought that'd be cool!!  :-)  We'll see what happens.  I know it's all in God's timing!  I am really excited for them, and their first baby!  I will write more when I have some details and pictures!!

Moved!!

Sorry it has been so long since my last update, but things have been crazy here.  We are finishing the process of moving (although temporarily) which has been a huge blessing to us.  We are still praying for Nathan to get a lead position, but we are so thankful for God's provisions in the meantime.  We have been so blessed to have been given numerous things we needed for the house!  It has amazed me to see how God has provided so much for us!  We also got a puppy.  She's a German Shorthaired Pointer mix.  You can google it if you don't know what they look like :-)  She's 6 mos old, and I'll post pictures as soon as I can.  She's a sweetheart, and soooo good for the kids!!  We are about 2/3 of the way moved in.  We still have some things at my parent's house, and some boxes that need to be unpacked at this house, but I have been running the dishwasher and the washer all day!!  I will try to update again soon!!  Sorry this is short, but lots to do!!
